Have you ever spent the majority of your dive searching for sharks and just as you see that silky silhouette approaching in the distance, you realise you don’t have enough decompression time to stay down and catch a worthy sighting? What about that feeling when you surface and all you want to do is get back under the ocean floor as soon as possible? It happens to the best of us when diving on air!

Nitrox is here to alleviate these feelings and get you staying down longer with the marine life you love the most and get you back into the water sooner.

Have you ever considered the concentration of oxygen in your tank? Believe us, its a fascinating process to learn about how diving with air that has a higher oxygen and lower nitrogen content, gives you more bottom time. You will also learn about the dive plan in more detail including how long you can stay at a certain depth dependent on the oxygen and nitrogen mix in that silver cylinder strapped to your back. Honestly, you will be surprised how submersed you become in the diving process! Over the course of the day it takes to complete the certification, you will delve into some light theory to ensure your knowledge is up to date and sound enough to be dealing with nitrox on future dives as well as considering your equipment choices.

You will learn how to analyse the oxygen content in your tank and set up your dive computer for diving with enriched air nitrox.

You will learn how to use special cylinder decals to identify your dive collaboration (and let everyone know that your obviously a skilled, highly trained nitrox specialist! ).

Of course, you will also complete 2 dives using nitrox to experience for yourself the advantages of diving on enriched air. However, this course can also be completed as a dry course should you have limited time to dive.
